UNSURPASSED WORKMANSHIP

Webb Boats was founded by Howard Webb, who began his career at Chatham Naval Dockyard, where he apprenticed in boat building.

Over many decades, Howard has acquired a unique array of skills and unsurpassed experience spanning all types of boat construction; from wood, through to composites, and GRP.

Howard and his experienced and talented team operate from their Norwich workshop, restoring and constructing a range of generally timber constructed boats, of up to 45 metres for its loyal clientele.

Webb Boats regularly produces moulds and plugs for a number of corporate boatbuilders when their new designs are at protype stage.  Webb Boats also designs and builds its own motor launches, the Caprina and Caprice, which are meticulously built to traditional timber methods, which can be propelled by petrol, diesel, or electric engines.

Howard is also renown in British traditional boatbuilding and restoration for his passion in helping to retain endangered heritage skills and crafts; including classical boatbuilding, and wooden vessel restoration.

Howard was approached by Norwich City College to help build the syllabus for heritage woodworking crafts, where he studied and was awarded an NVQ qualification in teaching, supporting the ongoing knowledge of those regional and nationally recognised skillsets which are at risk of extinction.

As a result of Howard’s teaching success, Webb Boats now also offers bespoke traditional woodworking skills workshops to groups and individuals.

Caprina 26

Webb Boats’ Caprina 26 Classic Motor Launch is hand-constructed entirely in wood utilising the best quality timber.

The 26′ Caprina Classic has oak framing covered with Columbian pine and mahogany planking. The decks are constructed of solid mahogany.

Caprina 26 seats up to eight people, complemented with plenty of locker space and optional fridge.

Propulsion is available across diesel, petrol, or electric, with power options up to 200hp.

Caprina 20

Webb Boats’ Caprina 20 is a 20′ bespoke sports motor launch designed and built in the UK. It is also popular in Switzerland where it is being used for lake activities.

The hull is strongly laminated using Scott Barder products, making this boat a very solid classic styled boat, which is built for longevity.

The Caprina’s hull comes as standard in dark blue, with other bespoke colours available for personalisation.

The boat is suitable for petrol or electric propulsion, depending on the requirement.
